The Center for Academic and Professional Development (CAPD) at Florida State University (FSU) is the entity responsible for continuing education and extending academic programs for the campus, community, and students. Additionally, Ascension Sacred Heart and the University of West Florida (UWF) have launched a strategic initiative that will enable 16 higher-level nursing undergraduate students to complete their clinical and in-person time on the Sacred Heart Pensacola campus.
For more than 65 years, FSU International Programs has been a leader in international higher education, providing students with the opportunity to live, study, and do internships at four international centers in Florence, Italy; London, England; Panama City, Republic of Panama; and Valencia, Spain. These study centers also offer library services, resources, and spaces. To determine which high schools are best for college readiness in Panama City, Florida, we looked at rankings, graduation rates, college readiness scores, and other key statistics. The following five high schools have consistently ranked among the best in the state for college readiness: Arnold High School, Bay High School, Mosley High School, Rutherford High School, and South Walton High School.
According to data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), an average of 80% of students from these five schools go on to college after graduation. At Arnold High School, for instance, 95% of graduates go on to college. At Bay High School, that number is 92%. Mosley High School has an 88% college-going rate while Rutherford High School has an 87% rate.
South Walton High School has an 82% rate. These figures demonstrate that students who attend high school in Panama City have a great chance of going on to college after graduation. With a variety of universities and colleges nearby as well as international study centers available through FSU International Programs, there are plenty of opportunities for students to pursue higher education.
